Nigentz has been photographing since he was a teenager and is also the Director of
Photography for short and feature films.
The artist proposes astonishing series of portraits. The photographer has selected, at random, faces and bodies that tell stories with the help of make-up, tattoos and costumes. Like a gallery of family portraits, that of aristocrats of the party, of gender (sexual or social), of
posture and clothing, Nigentz offers us a work on the notion of the “cliché” and the
relationship to the image.
Sometimes erotic, evil, magical or simply overwhelming, Nigentz’s portraits captivate us and show us what can be hidden behind the notion of image, thus playing on our senses and emotions, definitely going beyond this simple framework to bring us to the notion of identity
