Éléonore False

Éléonore False, born in 1987, graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2013 and from ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres in Fashion and Environmental Design in 2008.

She gathers images by browsing through the flattened world of books, building up a repertoire of forms that share the common trait of representing living things and human activity, which becomes a source for new connections to be created. Through a play on changes of scale, she develops a practice in volume, shaped by different processes—printing, volume creation, weaving, ceramics, metal cutting, basketry, and glass.

Since 2012, the artist has exhibited in galleries and institutions in France and internationally (Mexico, Germany, China, Brazil, Greece). Her work is also part of several public and private collections, such as the MAC VAL, the Fondation Lafayette Anticipation, the Frac Grand Large, the Frac île-de-France, the FRAC Sud, the MRAC Occitanie, and the FMAC of the city of Paris. This year, she is one of the artists featured in the AGORA, LA PLACE DU MUSÉE LAB #3 exhibition from January 24 to May 4, 2025, at the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco. The Frac Sud has also dedicated a monographic exhibition to her until November 23, 2025. Unprecedented in its scope, it showcased a decade of production and research on the image and its imaginaries.
