Bastien Marienne

Bastien Marienne born in Amiens in 1992, is a promising artist of his generation in whom the Ars Longa Gallery detects the power of a work combining subjectivity and narrative.

The artist draws his imagination from common spaces such as the sea, the mountains, and the streets of Marseille and Strasbourg. His paintings also engage with a design perspective through his depictions of contemporary villa and pool interiors. Bastien Marienne’s works depict the moment, moments alone or with friends in action or contemplation of the world around them. To depict these moments, he favors warm hues and saturated colors that evoke nostalgia and calm.

A former assistant to painter Robin Obitz, Bastien Marienne founded the Ficus studio in Marseille in 2020, which he sees as a place to work and develop individual and collective exhibitions and events. His work is exhibited throughout Europe, from Zurich to London and Luxembourg, as well as in Strasbourg, Paris and Marseille. In March 2025, his work was featured in a France 3 report highlighting young artists on the Grand Est regional scene.
