Xavier de Vilmorin was born and raised in Paris, in a family of artists sensitive to the arts and fashion. Inspired by cubist and expressionist artists, his colorful, dreamy and nostalgic world combines geometric shapes with vivid hues.
Inspired by cubist and expressionist artists, his colorful, dreamy and nostalgic universe combines geometric shapes with vivid hues. His works deal with sensitive subjects. His figures seem suspended in another time, surrounded by legendary creatures, giving his paintings an often dreamlike quality, similar to Chagall’s paintings. They evoke loss, solitude and death in a gentle, almost naive style.
His work has been the subject of several gallery exhibitions in Paris since 2022 and was included in the exhibition “Together, We Art, LP4Y France” in November 2023. In 2025, the artist took part in the group show “De la Seine à la Neva – Pérégrinations à l’Est” at Château Quesnoy de Chevrières. Konbini devoted an article to the artist in November 2024. In June 2025, he was also selected by Artsper to present a new edition.
