Marie Roux is a graduate of the Lyon Ecole des Arts Appliqués. For thirty years, the artist has been creating powerful artworks that blend subjectivity and narrative, somewhere between figuration and abstraction.
For the artist, painting is a way of observing, contemplating, and rediscovering reality. Her paintings bring together reflections on light, the seasons, and the movement of life; a means for her to explore colors and bodies with a style that is both academic and deeply contemporary. Indeed, the artist takes a careful look at her subjects and thus seeks to bring out the fleeting image captured by the eye, that of a unique moment, while infusing it with a unique poetry. A colorist artist, she uses her palette to communicate the feeling of a vision. Forms meet, jostle, and merge in a suggestive manner. Her creations thus become quests made up of daydreams and motionless journeys.
The artist has been exhibiting regularly since 2017 in the south of France (Hyères, Cassis, Le Pradet, Aix-en-Provence). Her artworks can be found in numerous private collections in France and internationally, confirming the universality of her artworks.
